Family Services Ball

DO you remember as a kid when you went to your first big formal night out? There's the clothes (of course), the party shoes, and all the fussing over your hair and accessories. Such was the case last Sunday night at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver as the Family Services of the North Shore held its 10th annual Winter Family Ball. "Star Light, Star Bright" was the theme as moms, dads, girls and boys dressed in their best to come to this much anticipated and very glamorous gala. School choirs from both Mulgrave and Collingwood entertained before dinner. Then, after dinner, it was time to "light up 100 lives" as families spnsored the lighting of a tiny ceramic house, each one representing a family in need. Never before have I seen a room so full of handsome young men and beautiful young ladies. Today, this column is dedicated to you.
