Joe Lovano Jazz

HE's collaborated with Herbie Hancock, Elvin Jones, Dave Holland and Bob Brookmeyer (to name a few) and is one of the most talked about jazz saxophone musicians of our time. Grammy Award winner Joe Lovano kicked off the Capilano Jazz Series with a concert at the college on Thursday, Sept. 19th. Lovano teamed up with Cap's own sensation, trumpeter Brad Turner, for an evening that jazz fans won't soon forget. Playing selections off his latest CD, Lovano introduced his wife, vocalist Judi Silvano, for a staggering second set that ended only after two standing ovations. A reception was held afterwards in the cafeteria for all to mix and mingle.
