LGH Golf Classic

EVERY year, the Lions Gate Hospital Foundation Golf Classic manages to raise some pretty impressive funds. It is, without a doubt, one of the best events in Canada, thanks to its numbers. This year was no exception. Thanks in part to a large anonymous donation, the foundation raised a new personal best of over $245,000. This brings the official five year cumulative total to well over $1 million. A day at the tournament starts with a train ride to Nicklaus North in Whistler, a round of golf, all three meals and some fantastic prizes. Congratulations to all the committee members for their hard work.

"Bogey the Bear", became one of the team when he wandered out to watch us tee off on the 3rd. He followed us around for a while, scared a few people out of the bathrooms, then settled down in the clover.

Thanks to LGH chief of staff Dr. John Maynard (left) for being my team captain. He joined Bayer rep Shari McKinley and plastic surgeon Dr. Les Kerluke at the 19th hole. PS - be sure to ask John about the birdie dance.

David Cottrell (left) caught up with formner BCMA president, and my team mate, Bill Ibbott after his round. Thanks for all the fun Bill, you were great.
