Rockin' for Research

JUVENILE Diabetes is a child's nightmare, but the fight to find a cure, and the people who work to raise money for research, are relentless in this pursuit. This is the spirit behind the Rockin' for Research 2nd Annual Fundraiser. North Shore businessman and music mogul Lou Blair, together with his associates and friends, helped put together the evening which featured performances by the very funny, yet sultry, songstress Jann Arden and the 80s superhit band Loverboy. At $200 a plate, the night was all glitz and glam and close to $250,000 was raised. The night was also dedicated to Loverboy band member Scott Smith who tragically died last year just shortly after performing at the first annual Rockin' for Research event. He is sorely missed.

Way to go gal. A beautiful tangerine orange gown made everyone sit up and take notice of West Van's Marilyn Diligenti-Smith.

Is it true that superagent Bruce Allen is going to run for Mayor of Vancouver? Stayed tuned he said as he escorted the lovely Nancy Emery back from the bidding tables.
