Wild Salmon Gala

THE Wild Salmon City Gala attracted all kinds of fish loving folks this past Thursday night to the Sheraton Wall Centre Hotel's grand ballroom. Close to 500 people took in the event which was hosted by the Steelhead Society. Four food stations, manned by guest chefs from different city restaurants, allowed party-goers to sample some very exotic cuisine. The silent and live auctions featured outdoor adventure gear, vacations and fine art. The "Last Cast Auction" featured full size six foot long salmon figurines decorated by artists the likes of Tiko Kerr and Sally Michener where bidding started at $5,000 each. And, to end the evening, a fabulous fashion show by The Bay and Concept Sauvage.
