A Time for Children

DO you ever find yourself wondering where those spare minutes went to? Well, for children with disabilities, or for children who suffer from Crohn's and Colitis, a few minutes in pain can sometimes feel like a lifetime. That's why the B.C. Lions Society and the C.H.I.L.D. Foundation put together "A Time for Children". Held at the beautiful Birks store downtown on Sunday April 7, the gala evening and celebrity watch auction was nothing short of spectacular. A champagne reception at the Plaza Escada was followed by a first class meal provided by the Pan Pacific Hotel. Then, the celebrity watch auction where guests bid on watched from the likes of Barbara Streisand, Diana Krall, Mel Gibson and Bob Hope, to name a few. Bryan Adams and Sarah McLachlan, our own North Shore stars, also did their part donating watches that went for $1,000 each.

Keeping up with Charmaine Crooks is no easy task. The Olympian, seen here with husband Anders Thorsen, is pure girl power. She's also a great public speaker, a fabulous dresser and a member of the IOC.
