Cinderella Project

GRADUATION day is a special day for most students, however, for those less fortunate, it can be a source of sadness and pain. This is where The Cinderella Project goes to work. The non-profit group raises money to enable high school students to "overcome adversity" upon reaching graduation. Sometimes it's a dress or shoes, other times it's a suit. In one handicapped girl's case, she received a day out shopping for her dress in anticipation of her first ever big school dance. It's a cause well worth the work. On March 23, the group held a silent auction at Mavericks Sports Grill. Over 600 people attended to raise close to $10,500. Want to help? Then go to <>

It takes a lot of behind the scenes work to make an event like this a success, just ask director Linda Lawson (from left), volunteer Carol Bueckert and friend Vanessa Wilkinson.
