Face the World 2002

DID you know that Vancouver has angels? Yes, it's true. And over the last 12 years they've raised over $2 million dollars for charity. The legendary Jacqui Cohen, Army and Navy heiress and Hollywood North socialite, once again opened the doors of her own pink palace on Point Grey road on June 1 to welcome over 200 of Vancouver's rich and famous. Dubbing each donor as an "angel" is her way of saying that their help is appreciated long after the canapes have been consumed and the champagne has gone flat. And, as always, close to half the crowd hails from our very own North Shore.

Brian Jessel, Ferrari and BMW dealer, and pretty Natalie Smallwood sipped champagne and mingled with the crowd.

And who are you wearing tonight? Well a Feizal Virani original of course, designed for only the best.

Artist Tiko Kerr (from left), seen here with partner Craig Shervey and guest Cliff Pickles, generously donated some of his work to the auction.

Mel Zajac and his wife Corinne were toasting the occasion in style on the Hollywood style driveway before dinner.

Wearing white with fabulous blue toned jewels was the ever popular Marlene Cohen-Wesler, Jacqui's mom.

Fino Lino's Bill and Lauren Persson jazzed up the night. Lauren was wearing a beautiful black Nancy Lord dress.

Viva Italia. Jim and Lori Romano are two of West Vancouver's finest, and most fashionable, couples.

Bev Hauff always looks splendid in backless black, one of her favourites. What's your secret girl, we want to know?

These restauranteurs and business owners are about much more than wining and dining. From left: Harald Ludwig, wife Sharlene and David Aisenstat.

Is it Charlie's Angels? No just Jacqui's Angels, namely daughter Dorothy DeCotiis (from left), mom Evelyn and daughter Mariann.

The incomparable Jacqui Cohen was as busy as can be greeting guests, thanking friends and organizing, as usual, one of the best parties of the year.
