New Year's 2001

OKAY, it may be a little late to wish you a Happy New Year, but it's not to late to share some of the memories of the events that took place last week as lots of friends and family members got together to usher in 2002. In West Vancouver, the popular place to be was at the foot of 15th Street and Bellevue as residents gathered at the new floral clock for hot chocolate, fireworks and fellowship. Party-goers who dined at Saltaire restaurant got some of the best views from their window seats as they danced the night away right across the street. Myself, I took a peek at both events and just couldn't resist taking my camera along for fun.

Actress Ellie Harvey and her main man, Saltaire owner Rob Ward, took time away from their busy schedules to toast the New Year.

Lori Breen, seen here with her husband Tony, looked fabulous in red - a perfectly festive pair for sure.

Jamie Tedham accompanied DJ Tim Cordes to his job this night as he kept the crowd dancing upstairs at Saltaire's.

They're a Petro-Canada pair till the end. Tony Martin runs the West Van station at 22nd and Marine while Liana Hegedus runs the Lonsdale and 13th location in North Van.

Saltaire bartenders Theo Fonseca (from left), Jon Vendargon and Keith Rock made sure the champagne was cold and ready for the ringing in of the New Year.

Proving that two "Harts" are better than one, Catherine and Alan Hart split their time between West Van and Seattle.

Peace and love for the New Year is the message from Manuel Ramos and his beautiful daughter Erica who also works at the West Van Keg restaurant.

Saltaire manager Oliver Schmaler took a turn on the dance floor with the very lovely Mrs. Toshiko Ramos.

Dressed from head to toe in gold lame, realtor Teresa De Cotiis and friend Jenny Lu added they're own special sparkle.

West Vancouver's Dain Currie and Kim Amor found a cozy seat by the bar to watch all the dancing.
