NS Girls' Soccer

WHILE most of us were settling in for Thanksgiving turkey last weekend, a group of highly energetic young athletes took to soccer fields across the North Shore for a weekend of fun, friendship and sport. The North Shore Girls Soccer Club held their 16th Annual International Soccer Tournament attracting teams of all ages from as far away as Calgary and Kamloops. The weather couldn't have been better which, needless to say, sure helped the gals put on a first class competition impressing everyone who came out to play. On Sunday, a spirited game at Ambleside Park saw two North Shore teams compete against each other. The score - doesn't matter. The result - lots of smiles.

	"It's been a great season and a great tournament," said assistant Orca team coaches Rod Paracy (left) and Burns McLellan.

	Orca players Tamara Paracy (left), Jane Channell and Caitlin Henderson loved the sunshine, "but we win more in the rain," they said jokingly.
	Metro Blaze soccer moms Ruth Campling (left) and Marianne Ketchen were busy cooking up hot dogs and burgers at the grill.
