WV Chamber President's Dinner

ANOTHER history making event took place in West Vancouver last week, and again, Capilano Golf and Country Club was the place. On June 27, three days after hosting their first ever external charity golf tournament, the club was once again the scene of something very special. The West Vancouver Chamber of Commerce held their annual President's Dinner and the first ever female president was elected to power. Dina Zeitler and her newly appointed board were presented to the audience as part of the evening's festivities which also included the annual business awards and, as always, a fabulous dinner buffet. Congratulations to all involved.

	Let's hear it for the Barbs, namely Barb Churchill (left), wife of WV police chief Grant Churchill, and Barb Bartholomew, one of our local artists.
	Legal eagles and then some. Joanne Thomas and husband David have a lot in common. David is also one of the chamber's newest directors.
	Get on board. Director Lynn Jest (left), past president Bill Chapman and past president, now council member, John Clark, are all part of the chamber's success.
	The dashing Jim McCarthy was in the enviable position of dining between two lovely ladies, namely realtor Sandra Ferros (left) and guest Stacey Murl.
	Every day's a day to play. Misti and Gary Mussatto, of the Gator Pit and Toucan Toys, are past award recipients.
	The Citizen of the Year award went to the ever affable, and very popular butcher, Peter Black. Wife Helen and son Jason had reason to be proud.
	Toasting the occasion were Horseshoe Bay businessman Danny Sewell and former councillor Liz Byrd.
	Hollyburn Country Club's Susie Biro and Bruce Adanac joined in the celebrations.
	Best New Business winner Laura Jackson (left), of Biskitz Bakery, and Best Established Business winner Heidi Schmidt, of The Palms Guest House.
	NS News' own Doug Foot and sales' Sheryl English are big supporters of the chamber.
	Serving only the best. Capilano's banquet manager Jan Besseling helped welcome guests like Susanne Soprovich and husband/councillor Bill.
