Vino Novello

Nov 22, 2003

By Catherine Barr

Whistler is a second home to many North Shore residents who can be seen partaking in a number of summer and winter activities.

Last weekend, it was time to welcome winter as the ski hills opened and so did the wine bottles. "Vino Novello", which is the brainchild of North Van's Elaine Henderson, was started at the Chateau Whistler over 10 years ago as a fundraiser for the Sunnyhill Foundation for Children. This year guests gathered for fun and paid tribute to years past by celebrating in true Italian style. Fantastico!

And earlier this month, even more North Shore residents wend their way north for "Cornucopia - Whistler's Food and Wine Celebration". The three day event featured wine seminars, winemakers dinners, Crush - the gala tasting and various parties like Andre Saint-Jacques' famous champagne / wine rave at his beautiful Bearfood Bistro location. Cheers to everyone.

Cheers to Lianne and Rex Panther, of North Van's Brougham Interiors. Their new store location means they are just as popular as ever.
