Wv Foundation Denim and Diamonds

Oct 25, 2003

By Catherine Barr

The West Vancouver Foundation chose a decidedly different theme for their annual gala last Saturday night as organizers traded in their bow ties and boas in favour of "Denim and Diamonds". The charitable organization transformed the Hollyburn Country Club gym into a slick and stylish saloon and encouraged guests to rustle up their best cowboy gear. Western hospitality aside, the event was every bit as glamorous and successful as before and congratulations are in order for everyone involved.

Executive director Charlotte McLaughlin and husband Patrick (left) shared a table with West Van's newest fire chief, Doug Trussler, and his wife Molly who both moved here from Toronto one year ago.

Watch out Dixie Chicks, there's a new gang in town. Making it all happen were foundation member Margie Driscoll (left), gala chair Naomi Chard and current chair Jo-Ann Wood.

Looking stylish in straw hats, Tim Porteous and Bea Donald played the part perfectly.

Hollyburn's Ed McLaughlin dined alongside Judy Baillie whose solid silver-bullet cowgirl outfit could easily rival anything in Shania's closet.
