A4K Boxing Gala

April 1, 2004

By Catherine Barr

Last year they made history, this year, they repeated it. Hollyburn Country Club played host last Thursday to a gala black-tie sports event that keeps growing in popularity. The Athletics 4 Kids organization (which raises money for sports equipment and fees for kids) introduced the idea of a gala boxing event last year, thus becoming the first of its kind in West Vancouver. The response was overwhelming. This year guests were again thrilled as they were treated to only the best with a martini reception, gourmet steak dinner, live and silent auction items and six rounds of Olympic-style sanctioned boxing matches. Congratulations to all involved.

Vancouver's best events and celebrity functions are all archived here. Vancouver pubs, clubs, nightclubs, gala events and fundraisers are included. Thanks for viewing.

Due to server capacity, you will not be able to access or click through to the larger photographs. With over 250,000 unique visits each month, our site would quickly exceed the amount of memory needed.

If you would like to receive a copy of a photograph, then please send an email and enclose the details of the event, the date, the name, the photo number and the names of the people in the photograph. Also, for security reasons, I prefer not to email copies of pictures to anyone other than the people who are actually in the photo. Thanks.

A night out with the boys doesn't get any better than this. Just ask Hollyburn boys Robin Wilding (left) and John Chivers.

They deserve a standing ovation and more. A4K founders Shane Collins (left), Dr. Debbie Collins and Craig Knapton have worked hard to make it all happen.
