Vancouver Folk Music Festival

July 18, 2004

By Catherine Barr

The 27th Annual Folk Music Festival took place last weekend at Jericho Beach Park. Folk, roots, world music and more attracted thousands to the venue which included various stages and activities spread over three days. From big names to no names, this festival continues to be one of Vancouver's best.

Also last week, Stanley Park's Malkin Bowl opened its gates for the premiere of Theatre Under the Stars' live summer season. Running until Aug. 21, "Crazy for You" and "Footloose" take to the outdoor stage on alternate nights to entertain young and old.

Catherine Barr, Vancouver's celebrity events reporter and photographer, is supported online by CLR Communications Ltd.

Vancouver's best events and celebrity functions are all archived here. Vancouver pubs, clubs, nightclubs, gala events and fundraisers are included. Thanks for viewing.

Due to server capacity, you will not be able to access or click through to the larger photographs. With over 250,000 unique visits each month, our site would quickly exceed the amount of memory needed.

If you would like to receive a copy of a photograph, then please send an email and enclose the details of the event, the date, the name, the photo number and the names of the people in the photograph. Also, for security reasons, I prefer not to email copies of pictures to anyone other than the people who are actually in the photo. Thanks.

At TUTS: Music director Wendy Bross-Stuart's job isn't really the pits because she and her 22 piece orchestra make some beautiful music together.
