Players CHOPHOUSE Opening, McLaren House and Scotiabank Sparkle Fireworks Event and O'Douls New Chef

Aug 1, 2007

By Catherine "Cat" Barr

Check the Metro News Daily - Vancouver Edition- for Catherine Barr's newest column - Social Eyes - 120,000 copies in print every Tuesday.

Vancouver actress Ellie Harvie and her restaurateur hubby Rob Ward are one busy couple as they welcomed two new members to the family last week. As if being new parents to a beautiful baby boy wasn't enough, the couple also rolled out the red carpet at 808 Beatty with the opening of the new Players CHOPHOUSE. The former Wilsons location has been revamped and added to the roster of the Points West restaurant group which always scores big in attracting famous sports stars and lovely ladies to its various outlets. Also making a big bang last week during the fireworks were the folks at Scotiabank and the McLaren Housing Society who, in support of people living with AIDS/HIV, held their spectacular Sparkle fundraiser where guests ooh'ed and aah'ed from a view 34 floors up. Congrats to all involved.

Both events the fireworks weren't the only thing making a big bang this past week in Vancouver.
