The 12th Annual Canadian Cancer Society Diamond Ball was held last Saturday at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. The event, which always attracts Vancouver's well-heeled and highest-society names, plays a major role in supplying funds for the BC & Yukon Division and the fight against this disease which is still far too common, and knows no boundaries when it comes to age, race or sex. La Dolce Vita was this year's theme and included an elegant VIP champagne reception for Marquis sponsors, followed by a cocktail reception, silent and live auctions, gourmet dinner, and numerous prize draws. Dancing to the beats of former Roxy house band Dr. Strangelove capped of the evening in style. Also, this year marked a special anniversary for event co-chairs Katty Chaichian and Shaheen Esmail who, for the first time ever, partnered up to serve their third year in charge of this fabulous event. Way to go gals - hope we see you again next year to break another record.
