The Giving Tree - Ferry Building Gallery

THE Ferry Building Gallery always has something wonderful going on and this Christmas is no exception. From December 5 to 17, the gallery is hosting "The Giving Tree" Christmas Art and Gift Sale. It's a great chance to get out and see the goodies and shop for those hard-to-buy family and friends. Wonderful unique jewellery, cards, scarfs and artwork can be found here as over 22 local artists feature their wares. There's truly something for everyone and for every price range. Stop by between 10 a.m.-6 p.m. daily (except Mondays), or call 925-7266 for more info.

Elizabeth Mihalik is a pottery artist. Her wonderful creations are perfect for giving.

Visual arts coordinator Ruth Payne poses with one of my favourite items. You can move this angel's head to match your mood. Sort of a "mood angel" if you will.

Ruriko Shimomae (second from right) was pleased to have her family along for the opening night. From left: Maki Sugawara, Yohei Shimomae, Ruriko with her scarves, and Ayako Kuroki.

Where would the gallery be without their volunteers? Thanks to Miriam Bergson (left) and Sandie O'Brian for all their dedication.

Jane Ford's Christmas card sets are elegant works of art. They're almost too nice to send out in the mail.

Evelynn Ioannidis (left) and artist Ly Wright modelled some of her exciting "Chu Chu" jewellery made from exotic gemstones.

Because the larger photos take up so much memory, I have not posted them here. If you want a copy of one of these larger photos, please feel free to email me at cbarr@westvancouver.com
