Native Art Exhibition, Grouse Mountain - Catherine Barr

GROUSE Mountain's natural beauty was the perfect backdrop this past week as members of the Squamish Indian Band helped celebrate the opening of a five-day Native Art Exhibition (June 21-25). Wednesday was National Aboriginal Day and the mountain held an outdoor lunch feast and display. There was food and music and, of course, artwork. Featured in the display was an original hand-carved native mask by Aaron Joseph valued at over $1,500. The exhibit was very popular with the mountain's many visitors as many stopped by to experience all the sites and sounds.
