Earth Day - NS Clean Up

DOES your neighbourhood look cleaner? Last Sunday, in celebration of Earth Day, the North Van Chamber of Commerce, the North Shore News and the Garden of Eden Day Spa sponsored a North Shore Clean Up day. Starting at 10 a.m., teams met at various locations from Seymour to Capilano. They were given gloves and bags and told to go out and get garbage. They came back with over 120 bags. Afterwards it was up to the top of Grouse Mountain for hot dogs and hot chocolate.

Little Ian Ertzinger was too little to help this year, but I'm sure he his mom Martha will be back when he's grown up.

They were a winning team. From left: Andrew Casanova, Daniel Casanova, Immanuel Ertzinger and Yvonne Casanova gathered lots of garbage from Kirkstone Park.

Garden of Eden Day Spa was a big sponsor of the event. Jill Roussin (left) and organizer Jenny MacMillan, spa director, deserve a lot of credit.
