Park Royal Halloween

THE Park Royal Hotel was full of tricks and treats last Saturday night as the Charity Halloween Howl 2001 raised money for the Red Cross disaster relief funds. Everyone came dressed to kill as guests were treated to live music, dancing, food, prizes and fun. What made this party extra special is that everything, from the drinks to the food and prizes, was donated. Even the staff and the musicians worked for free. Raffle draws included trips and televisions. Sponsored in part by the North Shore News and WestVancouver.com, the event raised close to $4,000, a portion of which will be matched by the North Shore Credit Union.

It was a complete surprise to see Lilias and Robert Barr (yes, my mom and dad) dressed up as the Wizard of Oz's "Dorothy" and Braveheart respectively. It was an even bigger surprise when Braveheart won first prize for his costume.
