TIS the season for giving, but giving is going to be a year-long activity for the Athletics 4 Kids organization. The newly establish group is aiming to provide kids with the means to participate in sports by helping them pay for things like equipment and registration fees. The project is the brainchild of well-known athlete Shane Collins who, along with wife Debbie, donate their skills and time to the cause. Canadian doubles tennis champion Grant Connell, former Quiznos owner Al Blaze and QM/FM morning host Tara McGuire were among the famous faces at Hollyburn Country Club this past Monday as Collins hosted a thank you reception for board members, founding sponsors and key players.
