Pauline Johnson Gala

Feb 28

By Catherine Barr

Hollyburn Country Club's main gym was transformed into a glamours winter wonderland last Saturday night as parents, friends and guests gathered for Pauline Johnson school's annual gala . Celebrating the 50th anniversary of Carnival de Quebec, the festivities included both a live and silent auction which raised over $34,000. The money will go directly to the Grade 7's Quebec trip, and to new school computers. Congratulation to everyone on a real gala glam night.

Vancouver's best events and celebrity functions are all archived here. Vancouver pubs, clubs, nightclubs, gala events and fundraisers are included. Thanks for viewing.

Due to server capacity, you will not be able to access or click through to the larger photographs. With over 250,000 unique visits each month, our site would quickly exceed the amount of memory needed.

If you would like to receive a copy of a photograph, then please send an email and enclose the details of the event, the date, the name, the photo number and the names of the people in the photograph. Also, for security reasons, I prefer not to email copies of pictures to anyone other than the people who are actually in the photo. Thanks.

Volunteer parents Michelle Walker (left) and Donna Saldat paraded all of the wonderful auction items around the room for bidders to see.
Auctioneer Colin Ritchie came from Victoria to help up the bids.
Just raise your "Bon Homme" shaped paddle if you want to bid on a item like Charlott and Patrick McLaughlin did.
Dressing in the theme of carnival red, white and blue were parents Jayne and Peter Lloyd-Jones.
She's too nice to be a real dragon lady, but Donna Weston's sequined serpent-emblazoned blue cocktail dress made her look hot.
Dr. Lou Metzner and wife Analisa, of Pacific Pilates, are proud supporters of many school events.
Three cheers for these three ladies and the good work they do. From left: Cultural assistant Marie Payette-Falls, principal Jennifer Anderson and gala organizer Patsy Sheldon.
