West Vancouver's Milestones restaurant Spring Patio Party and Knill Family Tsunami Fundraiser

June 2, 2005

By Catherine Barr

West Van's Milestones restaurant pulled out the little drink umbrellas for a very special party fundraiser last week. The afternoon mixer not only welcomed summer, but was held in support of West Van's Knill family who lost two family members in last year's devastating Asian tsunami. Proceeds go to support the opening of a learning centre for children in Thailand.

Catherine Barr, Vancouver's celebrity events reporter and photographer, is supported online by CLR Communications Ltd.

Vancouver's best events and celebrity functions are all archived here. Vancouver pubs, clubs, nightclubs, gala events and fundraisers are included. Thanks for viewing.

Due to server capacity, you will not be able to access or click through to the larger photographs. With over 250,000 unique visits each month, our site would quickly exceed the amount of memory needed.

If you would like to receive a copy of a photograph, then please send an email and enclose the details of the event, the date, the name, the photo number and the names of the people in the photograph. Also, for security reasons, I prefer not to email copies of pictures to anyone other than the people who are actually in the photo. Thanks.

Watermelon martinis anyone? Just ask bartenders Phil Kinninmont (left) or Rob Birmingham for a sipping sample.
In the name of love and learning, friends and family members raise money in memory of John and Jackie Knill. From left: Elaine Dahl, Roy Maguire, his wife Terri Knill (sister to John Knill), Leslie Stephanson and Dave Smith.
Milestones co-partner Mike Snetsinger (left) and president Wayne Holm, who also lives in West Van, welcomed guests.
Look for these pretty North Van gals to serve up smiles every time. From left: Christine Gillett, Nicole Wells and Katie Gillett.
