Operation Red Nose on the NOrth Shore

Nov 4, 2005

By Catherine Barr

DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE - the message is simple. And with the holiday season fast approaching, it was time once again to roll out the red carpet for a red nosed friend. North Shore Rotary club member-volunteers came out to Park Royal last Thursday to mark the launch of Operation Red Nose - the free service that drives you home in your own car if you've indulged in one too many Christmas spirits. From Nov. 26 - Dec 31 you can call
(604) 619-0942 from 9pm-3am for a ride home - weekends ONLY.

Catherine Barr, Vancouver's celebrity events reporter and photographer, is supported online by CLR Communications Ltd.

Vancouver's best events and celebrity functions are all archived here. Vancouver pubs, clubs, nightclubs, gala events and fundraisers are included. Thanks for viewing.

Due to server capacity, you will not be able to access or click through to the larger photographs. With over 250,000 unique visits each month, our site would quickly exceed the amount of memory needed.

If you would like to receive a copy of a photograph, then please send an email and enclose the details of the event, the date, the name, the photo number and the names of the people in the photograph. Also, for security reasons, I prefer not to email copies of pictures to anyone other than the people who are actually in the photo. Thanks.

Get a ride with "Rudy", starting Nov. 26, if you overindulge or else you'll be dealing with West Van Cst. Lyle Kuemper (left) or Sgt. Paul Skelton - and they won't be smiling then.

Operation Red Nose spokesman Cst. Bruce Vallingall is one of those rare few who actually makes that red nose look good.
