Wilson Steakhouse Vancouver Tsunami Fundraiser

Jan 6, 2005

By Catherine Barr

Despite the devastating loss of life in Asia, this natural disaster seems to have really brought out the best in people everywhere, including local North Shore business owners. A veritable Tsunami of local fundraising events have been planned, one of the earliest of which was held last week at Wilson's Steakhouse, owned by North Shore boys Drew and Blair Wilson. Raising close to $10,000 in two hours, this Beatty street boite will have these funds doubled by the feds and sent to the Red Cross. Congrats to all involved

Catherine Barr, Vancouver's celebrity events reporter and photographer, is supported online by CLR Communications Ltd.

Vancouver's best events and celebrity functions are all archived here. Vancouver pubs, clubs, nightclubs, gala events and fundraisers are included. Thanks for viewing.

Due to server capacity, you will not be able to access or click through to the larger photographs. With over 250,000 unique visits each month, our site would quickly exceed the amount of memory needed.

If you would like to receive a copy of a photograph, then please send an email and enclose the details of the event, the date, the name, the photo number and the names of the people in the photograph. Also, for security reasons, I prefer not to email copies of pictures to anyone other than the people who are actually in the photo. Thanks.

Event organizers Lisa Turner (left) and Katrina Carroll-Foster managed to raise a total of $20,000+ dollars in a matter of hours.
BC Lions' exec Scott Ackles(left) joined co-owner Drew Wilson for this fundraising feat.
Joining invited guests from all over the city were Scott Lamb (left), Kelly Wilson and Bert Elbert.
Co-owner and politician Blair Wilson (left) was pleased to attract the support of North Shore realtors Kasha and Zygmunt Riddle and friend Joe Johnston.
Adding a touch of glamour to the event were local gals  Michelle McQueen (left) and Heidi Carton.
Working for a good cause - talk to Tina behind the bar if you're in need of cocktail or two.
