Sep 28, 2006

By Catherine Barr

North Shore residents and celebs were everywhere in September and the gala events and Hollywood hype was all over town.

Catherine Barr, Vancouver's celebrity events reporter and photographer, is supported online by CLR Communications Ltd, , and

Vancouver's best events and celebrity functions are all archived here. Vancouver pubs, clubs, nightclubs, gala events and fundraisers are included. Thanks for viewing.

Due to server capacity, you will not be able to access or click through to the larger photographs. With over 250,000 unique visits each month, our site would quickly exceed the amount of memory needed.

If you would like to receive a copy of a photograph, then please send an email and enclose the details of the event, the date, the name, the photo number and the names of the people in the photograph. Also, for security reasons, I prefer not to email copies of pictures to anyone other than the people who are actually in the photo. Thanks.

Local TV and radio personality Vicki Gabereau, seen here with Great Canadian Casino's Howard Blank, was just one of the many legendary celebs attending the opening of the new Red Robinson Theatre in Coquitlam . The night featured roasts and toasts in Red's honour as well as a performance by Bill Medley of the Righteous Brothers.
West Vancouver's Frank Gigliotti was seen schmoozing with singer/songwriter Susan Jacks, of "Seasons in the Sun" fame at the opening of the new Red Robinson Theatre.
West Vancouverite and Century Plaza Hotel and Spa owner Wendy Cocchia and daughter Connie welcomed guests to their new Beyond ultra lounge where VIPs got to paint-by-number and help create the beautiful art piece seen here.
Yours truly (left) was among those who toasted the opening of Beyond at the Century Plaza with fellow West Vancouverite and CTV news anchor Pamela Martin and hubby/businessman John Haibeck.
Saltlik steakhouse's "Just Because" party hostesses April Saretsky (left), Ace Hicks, Melissa Buckley and Linnet Leuba were dressed in red and black for the farewell to summer VIP event.
PR gal extraordinaire, Tiffany Soper, helped organize the "Just Because" party at Stewart Fuller's newest Saltlik restaurant. Stew and his family are well-known across the North Shore for their Earls restaurants and more.
Local actor Paul Duchart, who can be seen on screen with Renee Zellweger in the upcoming movie "Case 39", posed with Captain Kirk himself, William Shatner, at the first annual Canadian awards for the Electronic and Animated Arts (CAEAA) held at Richmond's River Rock theatre on Sep 14.
Lots of North Shore faces were in the crowd back on Sep. 7 during Oscar winning actor Richard Dreyfuss's appearance at the Schara Tzedeck Synagogue on Oak street where he made an impassioned plea to the congregation to spread peace among all people.
