WEst Vancouver Seniors Centre Swing Dance

Feb 25, 2006

By Catherine Barr

The West Vancouver Seniors' Centre held their Swingtime Dance Black & White Ball last Saturday night and the dance floor was full. A live band enticed everyone to cut a rug while enjoying some socializing and refreshments. And the entertainment didn't stop at the intermission either as the three time international gold medal winning Hot Flash Hoofers tap dancers took the stage for a lively number of their own.

Catherine Barr, Vancouver's celebrity events reporter and photographer, is supported online by CLR Communications Ltd, westvancouver.com , northvancouver.com and vancouverview.com

Vancouver's best events and celebrity functions are all archived here. Vancouver pubs, clubs, nightclubs, gala events and fundraisers are included. Thanks for viewing.

Due to server capacity, you will not be able to access or click through to the larger photographs. With over 250,000 unique visits each month, our site would quickly exceed the amount of memory needed.

If you would like to receive a copy of a photograph, then please send an email and enclose the details of the event, the date, the name, the photo number and the names of the people in the photograph. Also, for security reasons, I prefer not to email copies of pictures to anyone other than the people who are actually in the photo. Thanks.

Hard to believe these lovely young ladies are part of the Hot Flash Hoofers. From left: tap dancers Susan Kroll, Gladys Lee and Elaine Powell get ready to go on.

They've got golden feet and the medals to prove it. Roberta Laird (left), Diane Sutherland and Susan Filangieri are all part of the Hot Flash Hoofers.

Tom Galloway was lucky enough to steal Mel Clark away from her husband long enough for a turn or two on the dance floor.

There's no slowing them down. Brian Arnold-Jenkins and wife Joy just couldn't resist a quick foxtrot to "In the Mood".

Picture perfect. Geroge Roberts, who just also happens to be the new president of the West Vancouver Lawn Bowling club, was proud to have wife Wendy on his arm.
