Feb 10, 2006

By Catherine Barr

West Vancouver's first ever "Wintersong Festival" is taking place at various venues all this week. Designed to showcase the talents of both professional and local aspiring talent, the Wintersong festival features both paid and free concerts for the music lover in all of us. The Inaugural Wintersong Concert took place last Friday night at West Vancouver's Kay Meek Centre and featured the Chor Leoni Men's Choir and Vancouver Children's Choir. It was an opening night success story that will continue to grow in years to come. Check listings for events upcoming this weekend.

Vancouver's best events and celebrity functions are all archived here. Vancouver pubs, clubs, nightclubs, gala events and fundraisers are included. Thanks for viewing.

Due to server capacity, you will not be able to access or click through to the larger photographs. With over 250,000 unique visits each month, our site would quickly exceed the amount of memory needed.

If you would like to receive a copy of a photograph, then please send an email and enclose the details of the event, the date, the name, the photo number and the names of the people in the photograph. Also, for security reasons, I prefer not to email copies of pictures to anyone other than the people who are actually in the photo. Thanks.

Aliqua members Erin Bishop (left), Amy Stevenson and Katy Mascott joined Erin's mom Joanne Kennedy (centre) at the opening night concert. Their a cappella group would take to the stage the following night (Saturday) for a show with the Laudate Singers.
Steering committee members Jo-Ann Wood (left), Outlook publisher Linda Stewart and Linda Humphries were thrilled with the turn out.
Livvy Griffiths joined George and Oksana Dexter in the lobby before the show. Oksana is the Cultural Services Manager for the municipality of West Vancouver.
There was a buzz in the air as guests entered the theatre. Just ask Janik Chopin, WV Chamber vice president Michael Evison, former WV councillor Liz Byrd and Kay Meek Centre executive director Bill Macdonald-Kerr.
West Vancouver councillor Jean Ferguson and big band legend Dal Richards were among the dignitaries and guests.
West Van Chamber executive director Kathleen Campbell and hubby Richard enjoyed an evening out together.
