Gemini Awards Reception

Oct 15, 2003

By Catherine Barr

The 18th Annual Gemini Awards were handed out this past weekend in Toronto and there were lots of wild western faces in the crowd. But before boarding the plane out east, our local guys and gals were recognized at a special celebration put on by the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television. The Western Nominee Reception was held on Oct 15 at the Fairmont Waterfront hotel where, as they say, getting nominated already makes you a winner.

Former "Law and Order" actor and Emmy winner Michael Moriarty is once again earning praise, this time as a Best Performance nominee for his guest role on "Just Cause".
Catherine Schroer (left), seen here with friend Lyndell Pizzacalla, was nominated with her team for Best Art Direction in a Drama.
