Out on the Slopes Gay Ski Weekend, Fiction Wine Bar, Bojangles Wine Bar

Jan 31, 2004

By Catherine Barr

"Altitude Twelve - Out on the Slopes", the largest international gay and lesbian ski and snowboard week in North America, got off to a great start last Saturday at Gastown's Sonar. The event kicked off a week of fabulous fun in Whistler which includes skiing, fondues, tea dances and even the chance to get married.

Also, there are two new places in town to sit, sip, socialize and sample your favourite food and bevvy. Kitsilano's Fiction wine and tapas bar celebrated with a grand opening as did Yaletown's new marina side Bojangles cafe and wine bar. Both feature my faves, Autralian whites.

Vancouver's best events and celebrity functions are all archived here. Vancouver pubs, clubs, nightclubs, gala events and fundraisers are included. Thanks for viewing.

Due to server capacity, you will not be able to access or click through to the larger photographs. With over 250,000 unique visits each month, our site would quickly exceed the amount of memory needed.

If you would like to receive a copy of a photograph, then please send an email and enclose the details of the event, the date, the name, the photo number and the names of the people in the photograph. Also, for security reasons, I prefer not to email copies of pictures to anyone other than the people who are actually in the photo. Thanks.

Getting ready to hit the slopes at Altitude Twelve were Jake Fuhrmann, Antonio Benitez and Steve Castle.
Altitude Twelve volunteer Melska Young welcomed guests from all over, including Steven Jones (left) and J.T. Mayr who both came from Dallas, TX.
Let's get the party started. Celebrating the Altitude Twelve event at Sonar were Bill Houston (left), Steve Ellis, Matt Walters, Alan Baycroft and Alisdair Archibald (front).
