Vancity Starry Night

Nov 22, 2004

By Catherine Barr

Vancity's Starry Night has a long tradition in Vancouver. Held at the Stanley Theatre, the live "Variety Is The Spice Of Life" show featured some of this city's best musical talent. Hosted by Denalda Williams and Robert Kaiser (aka Joan-E), money raised goes to support various local AIDS charities. A special VIP reception was held before the show this past Monday.

Catherine Barr, Vancouver's celebrity events reporter and photographer, is supported online by CLR Communications Ltd.

Vancouver's best events and celebrity functions are all archived here. Vancouver pubs, clubs, nightclubs, gala events and fundraisers are included. Thanks for viewing.

Due to server capacity, you will not be able to access or click through to the larger photographs. With over 250,000 unique visits each month, our site would quickly exceed the amount of memory needed.

If you would like to receive a copy of a photograph, then please send an email and enclose the details of the event, the date, the name, the photo number and the names of the people in the photograph. Also, for security reasons, I prefer not to email copies of pictures to anyone other than the people who are actually in the photo. Thanks.

Oysters Unlimited's Moira and Alan Rowan were busy schucking for the VIPs.
Gallery owner Chris Harrison was pleased to donate his art space for the VIP reception to event organizer Catherine Newell and Shooting Stars' Susan Rae.
Vancity branch manager Janine Davies, seen here with Danny Schell, is proud to be part of the sponsoring company.
Selling 50/50 raffle draw tickets during the reception were Kersten Orr and Rockie Guttau.
Enjoying a glass of Sandhill wine before the show were Celebrities' Bruce Antecol (left), CDI's Jeff Kirkey and the Vancity husband and wife team of Shalina and Colin Lawrence.
She's not performing this night, but singer/impersonator Jill Richards, seen here with friend Kelly Lane, uses her real voice instead of just lip synching to songs.
