Vancouver International Dance Festival Benefit

Feb 11, 2004

By Catherine Barr

The Vancouver International Dance Festival (VIDF) got a boost last week as "The Look of Love " benefit was held at Opus Hotel. Fire dancers, costumed characters, a kissing booth and a live auction were all part of the festivities as famous faces from the dance community and their guests enjoyed a decadent night of fun. The VIDF will be at the Roundhouse from March 9 to 27, 2004. Tickets are
$25 and are available by phoning 604-662-7441.

Vancouver's best events and celebrity functions are all archived here. Vancouver pubs, clubs, nightclubs, gala events and fundraisers are included. Thanks for viewing.

Due to server capacity, you will not be able to access or click through to the larger photographs. With over 250,000 unique visits each month, our site would quickly exceed the amount of memory needed.

If you would like to receive a copy of a photograph, then please send an email and enclose the details of the event, the date, the name, the photo number and the names of the people in the photograph. Also, for security reasons, I prefer not to email copies of pictures to anyone other than the people who are actually in the photo. Thanks.

Dressed as the character "Nikita", Tanya Marquardt donned a blue wig and feather boa.
Jay Hirabayashi and Barbara Bourget from Kokoro
Dance were thrilled at the turnout and wealth of support.
Bard on the Beach artistic director and founder Christopher Gaze, seen here with new bride Jennifer, will showcase "Macbeth" and more this summer.
Selling kisses at the kissing booth was dancer and teacher Salome Diaz (left) and fellow teacher Amanda Durant.
Actor Reg Tupper acted as auctioneer raising the stakes in the bidding for a weekend getaway.
