Pink Planet TV Launch

Feb 1, 2005

By Catherine Barr

Yaletown's Opus hotel lounge was awash in colour as Pink Planet, City TV's new gay culture show, held its celebrity launch party. Invited guests, hosts and friends sipped on pink planet martinis and were given a sneak preview of what to expect in upcoming episodes of the Saturday night feature which airs at 11:30 pm on channel 13.

Catherine Barr, Vancouver's celebrity events reporter and photographer, is supported online by CLR Communications Ltd.

Vancouver's best events and celebrity functions are all archived here. Vancouver pubs, clubs, nightclubs, gala events and fundraisers are included. Thanks for viewing.

Due to server capacity, you will not be able to access or click through to the larger photographs. With over 250,000 unique visits each month, our site would quickly exceed the amount of memory needed.

If you would like to receive a copy of a photograph, then please send an email and enclose the details of the event, the date, the name, the photo number and the names of the people in the photograph. Also, for security reasons, I prefer not to email copies of pictures to anyone other than the people who are actually in the photo. Thanks.

Pamper party gal Kelly Marits shared her feather boa with the Westender's own Steven Schelling.
Pink Planet exec producer John Thornton (left) was on hand for the preview with City's Prem Gill and news anchor Roger Petersen.
Cameraman Darrin Maharaj goes back to back with Pink Planet host Bill Mantas to get the most interesting stories in the city.
"It's gonna be great," said fans Koralee Nickarz and Sean Laxdal as they raised a martini for the occasion.
Kimberly Lejarzo (left) enjoyed the party with British Columbia Fashion Week's executive directors Vladimir Markovich and Debra Walker.
Sipping and sampling with the celebs were Seema Dillon (left), Jason Hadikin, Jessica Baert and Opus manager Courtney Smith.
