It is gala season in Vancouver and last week was one of the biggest ever with almost too much to mention. A time for tuxes and ball gowns for sure last Friday at the Vancouver Art Gallery's (VAG) Monet to Dali Ball where, for $500 a person, guests sipped champagne then dined at a five-star dinner and Chanel fashion show at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. Saturday night it was time to celebrate life at the Sutton Place Hotel with the MPS Cup Fantasy Hockey Game and Gala. Former NHL'ers came out fighting to raise money for the battle against this rare and devastating disease. But don't put the glitter and gowns away just yet, because next week, there's even more to come.

Vancouver's best events and celebrity functions are all archived here. Vancouver pubs, clubs, nightclubs, gala events and fundraisers are included. Thanks for viewing.

Due to server capacity, you will not be able to access or click through to the larger photographs. With over 250,000 unique visits each month, our site would quickly exceed the amount of memory needed.

If you would like to receive a copy of a photograph, then please send an email and enclose the details of the event, the date, the name, the photo number and the names of the people in the photograph. Also, for security reasons, I prefer not to email copies of pictures to anyone other than the people who are actually in the photo. Thanks.

Sipping champagne in the Monet inspired gardens at the VAG Ball are Lumiere restaurant partner Manjy Sidoo, left, and guest Kim Nevar.
Delta Group CEO Bruce Langereis, left, and his new Private Residences at the Hotel Georgia are sponsors of the VAG reception. Seen here with restaurateur David Aisenstat, of Hy's and Keg fame, Bruce also hosted a private pre-event party at his lavish Coal Harbour home to celebrate.
Finding a cure for MPS and help for their son Nicklas is top of the list for former NHL player Todd Harkins and wife Kirsten who organizes the MPS Fantasy Hockey Game and Gala.
Former Edmonton Oiler turned NHL scout BJ MacDonald, left, donates to a good cause at the MPS Hockey Gala alongside Gill Olesen, BJ's wife Lisa MacDonald and star endodontist, Dr. Mark Olesen.
Samba Brazilian Steak House's own Desmond Chen celebrates the restaurant's fifth anniversary with a party last Tuesday which featured food, friends and feathers. Visit their Alberni Street location for more fun.
BC Minister of Transportation Kevin Falcon and mountain biking buddy Jessica "Snippy" Elliott didn't let an earlier mishap on the mountains keep them away from the VAG Ball.
Vancouver Canucks assistant captain Trevor Linden admires the Monet to Dali exhibit with other VIPs at the VAG Ball.
Beautiful Joan Chang walks the gardens with fiance and Metro news managing editor Fernando Carneiro at the VAG Ball.
Such big bling for a little thing like CTV-9 news anchor Mi-Jung Lee who is easily one of the most glamorous ladies at the VAG Ball.
Handsome hulk Gary Nylund, a former Toronto Maple Leaf star, is now a firefighter in Delta. He and wife Sandra make the perfect couple at the MPS Hockey Gala.
NHL hockey hero Garry Valk, seen here with wife Tanya at the MPS Hockey Gala, played for both Vancouver and Toronto before retiring to a career in broadcasting.
