Voya Loden Opening / Canucks Place Gala / Vancouver Art Gallery Gala

Oct 18, 2008

Beautifully engraved baby silver piggy banks graced the tables at the The Canucks Place Children's Hospice Gift of Time Gala last Saturday at the Westin Bayshore Hotel. Awarded to the highest bidders, the piggies are all part of the Kids for Kids program where children save their pennies and more to help another less fortunate child at Canucks Place. This, along with other glamorous auction items and a surprise performance by Spirit of the West, made for a fabulous evening all round. It all goes to show that big glamorous galas like this also appreciate the small gestures and that giving, in any form, is what is most important, especially during these economic times. Also getting rave reviews this past weekend was the Vancouver Art Gallery's Flash Forward Gala and Auction. Original art was auctioned off live then VIP guests enjoyed a fabulous five-star dinner at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. And yes, it's finally happened. Coal Harbour's much anticipated Loden Hotel and Voya restaurant/lounge have opened their doors to the public. Super chic and sexy sleek, I predict that this luscious locale will be a big hit with both the beautiful people and movie stars alike. Save me a seat at the "Barr" and tell them Cat sent ya.

Vancouver's best events and celebrity functions are all archived here. Vancouver pubs, clubs, nightclubs, gala events and fundraisers are included. Thanks for viewing.

Due to server capacity, you will not be able to access or click through to the larger photographs. With over 250,000 unique visits each month, our site would quickly exceed the amount of memory needed.

If you would like to receive a copy of a photograph, then please send an email and enclose the details of the event, the date, the name, the photo number and the names of the people in the photograph. Also, for security reasons, I prefer not to email copies of pictures to anyone other than the people who are actually in the photo. Thanks.
