Pasparos Greek Restaurant Anniversary Party and Centennial Open House

Jul 8, 2007

By Catherine "Cat" Barr

The North Shore Outlook is delivered to over 60,000 homes in Canada's wealthiest communities, North Vancouver and West Vancouver, every Thursday - over 60,000 issues in print.

Opa! Pasparos Greek restaurant on Third Street in North Van was busy roasting and toasting last weekend as owner Katia Roumanis did double duty with an anniversary party that won't soon be forgotten. Celebrating North Van's centenary was part of the plan, but the restaurant was also recognized for its 33-year history. Guests lined up outside to take in the feast and to sing and dance the night away in support of the North Shore Women's Centre (NSWC). Congratulations to all involved. Yamass!

Vancouver's best events and celebrity functions are all archived here. Vancouver pubs, clubs, nightclubs, gala events and fundraisers are included. Thanks for viewing.

Due to server capacity, you will not be able to access or click through to the larger photographs. With over 250,000 unique visits each month, our site would quickly exceed the amount of memory needed.

If you would like to receive a copy of a photograph, then please send an email and enclose the details of the event, the date, the name, the photo number and the names of the people in the photograph. Also, for security reasons, I prefer not to email copies of pictures to anyone other than the people who are actually in the photo. Thanks.

MP Don Bell was thrilled to present a commemorative certificate to Pasparos owner Katia Roumanis (right) and daughter Tanya Bakas on this anniversary occasion.
Katia Roumanis's parents, Persephone and Vassilis, were all smiles as they joined in the celebration.
North Van's Vivian Kranenburg enjoyed some fabulous food alongside exchange student Karla Alcantara.
Former North Van City councillor, and now Freedom of the City holder Stella-Jo Dean, was among the VIPs in attendance.
Pretty singer/keyboardist Evie Katevatis and her band Xastouki were ready to entertain the guests with live music.
Model and dancer Angie Perdios showed-off a traditional Cretan folk outfit as the festivities got underway.
Chefs Fotis "Frank" Polymenakos (left) and Thanasi "Thomas" Stoupos served up heaping portions of souvlaki, salads and sweets.
NSWC board chair Maureen Johnston and executive director Michelle Dodds manned the information and silent auction tables at the front entrance.
